Tickets are on sale now through the club’s official site. Read carefully before buying: the 2027 show uses two separate ticketing platforms — tickets for the Javits Center do not grant access to Madison Square Garden, and vice versa. Saturday’s daytime ticket does not include the Saturday evening Masters Agility Finals (sold separately; currently sold out). The Javits Center is at 655 W 34th St; Madison Square Garden is at 4 Pennsylvania Plaza (above Penn Station). Both are on Manhattan’s west side, a short ride apart. The nearest airports are LaGuardia (LGA), JFK, and Newark (EWR). Verified 2027

2027 begins a new era: Netflix streams Westminster live.
In May 2026, the Westminster Kennel Club announced a multi-year deal making Netflix the live home of the dog show beginning with the 151st edition. Best in Breed competitions stream live on Netflix’s Tudum platform, and the Masters Agility Championship airs as a taped broadcast. The deal ends a decade on Fox Sports (2017–2026) and, before that, more than thirty years on USA Network and CNBC (1984–2016). Verified
History
America’s second-oldest continuous sporting event — behind only the Kentucky Derby. Verified
The Westminster Kennel Club’s first show — the “First Annual New York Bench Show of Dogs” — was held in 1877, with about 1,200 dogs of a few dozen breeds, from pugs to mastiffs. The club took its name from the Westminster Hotel in Manhattan, where its founders — a group of sporting gentlemen — met to talk dogs. The hotel is long gone; the name stuck.
It wasn’t the first dog show in America, but it endured: among U.S. sporting events, only the Kentucky Derby has been held every year for longer.

The 150th Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show was held January 31–February 3, 2026. Verified
Best in Show: Penny, a Doberman Pinscher, handled by veteran handler Andy Linton — his second Westminster BIS, 37 years after winning with another Doberman, Indy, in 1989. Reserve Best in Show: Cota, a Chesapeake Bay Retriever. The BIS judge was two-time Westminster-winning handler David Fitzpatrick. Other finalists: Zaida the Afghan Hound, JJ the Lhasa Apso, Cookie the Maltese, Graham the Old English Sheepdog, and Wager the Smooth Fox Terrier.
The 150th drew about 2,500 dogs representing 212 breeds and aired on FOX, FS1, and FS2. These are 2026 results, for reference only — nothing carries forward to 2027.
